CAPE TOWN – Egypt’s Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania el Mashat underscored the importance of the alliance of major emerging countries under the umbrella of the new development bank.
The new development bank is a multilateral bank affiliated to the BRICS group.
Egypt is ready for working with partners in the group to enhance cooperation among countries of the south and contributes to achieving joint prosperity and welfare worldwide, added Mashat while participating in the main business session of the ninth annual meeting of the board of the bank’s governors on Saturday.
The meeting, themed “investment in a sustainable future” started activities on August 28 and will wrap up today in capital of South Africa Cape Town.
She pointed out that outlining institutional frames for cooperation among BRICS states is mainly stimulating efforts aimed at attracting more investments to such countries.
Mashat said the meeting is asserting the joint commitment to attaining sustainable development as a joint mission that has become more important at these hard times.
