CAIRO – Malian Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop visited the premises of Cairo International Centre for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding (CCCPA) to stand on means of enhancing co-operation between the center and the Malian side.

Director General of the CCCPA Ahmed Nehad Abdel-Latif posted the Malian top diplomat on the center’s programs to build capabilities of African cadres, a matter that reflected Egypt’s firm commitment to supporting stability and peace in Africa by supporting the national state and its institutions.

He also expressed the center’s readiness to back Mali’s national capabilities in the areas of combating extremism, which leads to terrorism, and peacebuilding, within the framework of genuine efforts to face the real threat of terrorism and achieve sustainable peace.

In 2023, the center had previously held a session in Mali, with the aim of promoting the role of religious leaders in preventing extremism and terrorism, Abdel-Latif further noted.

For his part, the Malian minister lauded the center’s distinguished role in peacekeeping and peacebuilding in Africa.

He also expressed his appreciation for the fourth edition of the Aswan Forum for Sustainable Peace and Development, that was held on July 2-3, under the theme “Africa in a Changing World: Re-Envisioning Global Governance for Peace and Development”.
