CAIRO – Malaysian Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities Zuraida Kamaruddin stressed her country’s keenness on enhancing investment co-operation with Egypt.
She made the remarks during a meeting on Monday with CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Mohamed Abdel Wahab.
The talks tackled available opportunities for Malaysian investments as well as mechanisms for businessmen’s participation in joint projects.
Abdel Wahab said both sides expect Egypt to become a hub for Malaysian palm oil manufacturing and exportation.
He stressed keenness on paving the ground for investors of both sides to implement new projects.
He reviewed the changes realised to improve the investment climate, including updating legislation and offering investment incentive packages.
He noted that the mega projects being implemented in Egypt secure several investment opportunities that can meet Malaysian businessmen aspirations.
The two sides also discussed means of establishing investment projects in the fields of wood and furniture.
