President Lazarus Chakwera of Malawi praised Friday the bilateral ties binding Egypt and his country as “strategic and vital” saying they have witnessed remarkable development in recent years.
Chakwera’s comments came during a meeting with Egypt’s ambassador to Malawi Hassan Shawki, as he is concluding his tenure in the Africa country.
Chakwera entrusted the ambassador with conveying his greetings to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, and hailed Egypt’s eagerness to push forward the bilateral relations with his country.
For his side, Shawki conveyed Sisi’s greetings to Chakwera, especially after being elected as president for the Southern African Development Community (SADC) as of August.
