Egyptian State Minister for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs Nabila Makram asserted the conference of “Egyptian Entities Abroad,” to convene in Cairo on Sunday will be held amid major challenges in the world at large in a scene that requires co-operation of all players.
In an interview to MENA on Thursday in coincidence with the convocation of the third edition of the conference, Makram said the political leadership is keen on promoting the participation of Egyptians abroad in fulfilling sustainable development plans to contribute to building the “new republic”, thus underscoring their national role in different positions.
More than 500 individuals representing Egyptian entities in different world countries will take part in the 3rd conference for Egyptian entities abroad to talk about their proposals and meet with representatives from the ministries and state institutions, according to her.
Makarm said the conference prioritises the promotion of real estate investment, to which the state is paying a greater attention, given the fact that Egypt made many achievements which covered infrastructure projects and different investments in real estate sector, in addition to the construction of new cities and smart cities nationwide.
The state minister added participants are expected to pay field visits to several new cities and major industrial complexes as part of the conference’s activities to get acquainted with real estate investment opportunities.
She further mentioned the conference offers an important chance for probing a raft of cultural issues, including the organisation of visits for Egyptian expats to see archaeological and tourism places of attraction.
The conference’s first round was held in July, 2019 and the second convened in 2021, according to her. Both versions aimed to boost the role of Egyptians abroad in promoting national efforts and plans to develop the country in the different spheres, added Makram.
Makram said, meanwhile, remittances from Egyptians working abroad have mainly contributed to upping investments and achieving sustainable development.
Shifting to services offered to Egyptians abroad, Makram spoke about the utmost interest the state is attaching to the country’s expats worldwide to meet all their demands and know more about problems they face and try to find solutions.
