Minister of State for Emigration Nabila Makram stressed the political leadership’s keenness to link Egyptians abroad to the homeland and to educate young people, as they are the future leaders, to clarify the reality of what is being accomplished in Egypt among their peers in their countries of residence.
This came during Minister Nabila Makram’s meeting with Head of the Youth and Sports Committee in the House of Representatives Dr Mahmoud Hussein, member of the House of Representatives and the Parliament’s Economic Affairs Committee Sayed Samir and member of the Egyptian community in Saudi Arabia Sherif el Nesiri to tackle joint cooperation to enhance services provided to young Egyptians abroad in various fields.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Emigration on Tuesday said the minister asserted the ministry’s interest in linking young people abroad with the homeland as part of the second and third generation forums held for Egyptians abroad, referring to cooperation with the authorities concerned to familiarise young people with the requirements of the Egyptian national security and the current challenges, as well as raising their awareness on the importance of promoting the Egyptian state’s achievements in various fields.
She added that these forums are held in cooperation with the Ministries of Defense, Interior, Youth and Sports, Culture, Tourism and Antiquities and the Environment.
She pointed out to the Ministry’s Center for Dialogue for Egyptian Students Studying Abroad (MEDCE), which was launched in January 2021, saying it is intended to become a dialogue umbrella for Egyptian youth abroad to encourage sustainable communication and dialogue between Egyptian scholars in various countries of the world and the Ministry.
The meeting dealt with the center’s prominent activities which were implemented on the ground and online during the repercussions of the Coronavirus pandemic in terms of receiving ideas and working papers from various student networks that were formed with the launch of the center.
The Chairman of the Youth and Sports Committee in the House of Representatives Dr Mahmoud Hussein praised efforts by the ministry to meet the needs of Egyptians abroad, especially in terms of linking young Egyptian generations outside Egypt to their homeland, and working to protecting the Egyptian national identity in their hearts.
