CAIRO – Minister of State of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Nabila Makram held a meeting with representatives of the Egyptian community in Ukraine, which included several Egyptian students in different Ukrainian cities.
The meeting aimed to follow up on latest developments and get acquainted with their conditions over the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.
In a statement on Saturday, the ministry said it communicated with the ministries concerned in a move meant to meet needs of the community and to ensure their safety in the first place.
The minister also urged not to trust any baseless news or rumors and to depend only on official statements issued by the Egyptian Embassy in Kyiv.
Makram also directed nationals not to leave for eastern and southern districts in Ukraine, where there are clashes between Ukrainian and Russian troops, while nationals who can head for Romania or Poland should contact the Egyptian Embassy in Kyiv at first.
