Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah Eddin Moustafa opened on Thursday the Military Production Company for Maintenance, Supplies, and Integrated Solutions in Abu Zaabal area.
Several senior officials from the ministry and the National Authority for Military Production attended the opening ceremony.
The idea of establishing the company arose as part of the ministry’s recent efforts to boost its role in advancing national industry, as the driver of development, the minister said. This aligns with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives on making optimal use of national resources.
He highlighted that military production companies comprise over 250 production lines and more than 12,000 machines with a wide range of technologies.
Establishing such a company was essential to achieve a qualitative leap in maintenance of electromechanical systems, control systems, and the renewal of machinery and production lines within military production companies, Salah Eddin said.
He also emphasised the importance of leveraging the company’s excess capacity to offer integrated solutions and perform maintenance and repair services for production lines in both the public and private sector companies, in addition to serving the military production companies.
The minister attended a presentation by the Company’s CEO Ahmed Anwar Ahmed on its activities and areas of expertise.
These include maintenance, repair, installation of machinery, design of central cooling systems, and the design and installation of networks for air, fire suppression, steam, and gases, in addition to installing surveillance camera systems and land-based internet lines.
The inauguration of the company coincided with Military Production Ministry’s October celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the production of the first Egyptian-made ammunition round in October 1954 by a subsidiary.
The maintenance and integrated solutions sector at the new company is one of the most promising, particularly in light of Egypt’s growing focus on enhancing the role of industry in building the New Republic, he said.
