CAIRO – Egyptian Finance Minister Mohamed Maeet asserted that that the “2024/2030” tax policy document is still under review and has not yet been presented for societal dialogue, noting that the circulated version of the tax policy document on social media was merely a preliminary draft prepared several months ago and has since undergone many modifications.
He added that the “2024/2030” tax policy document is under careful study by the Ministry of Finance to ensure it reflects the ministry goals for the next six years.
He noted that the high committee responsible for preparing the tax policy document is putting the final touches on it before launching it for societal dialogue in the coming weeks. The “2024/2030” tax policy document will be presented for discussions once it is finalised.
Maeet emphasised the ministry’s commitment to benefiting from all outstanding international experiences in establishing the stability of tax policies to improve the business climate and attract more investments.
