Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli witnessed on Thursday, at the headquarters of the government in the New Administrative Capital, the inking ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and US company of Sinopsis to expand the activities of exporting the services of electronic designing, semiconductors and compact systems to be up to the national initiative of Egypt Makes Electronics (EME).
Minister of Communication and Information Technology Amr Talaat attended the ceremony.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, Talaat said that the memo comes within the framework of the important role of ITIDA in building technological abilities and supporting innovation via presenting different models of joint work and focusing on the sector of exports to increase Egypt’s exports of technological services, communications and electronic, in addition to innovating new industries and job opportunities.
This comes in light of the role of informational technology and communications as a factor of comprehensive empowerment to all industries and sectors, he said.
The MoU goes along with the EME within the framework of implementing the “strategy of digital Egypt to develop outsourcing industry 2022-2026” which aims at increasing digital exports of the products and services of information technology, communications, designing electronics and compact programs to improve Egypt’s position as a center of the services with added value and to provide job opportunities for the Egyptian youth via attracting more investments in the technological sector and supporting current investors to expand their centers in Egypt, he said.
As per the memo, ITIDA is to present the necessary support to Sinopsis company to expand its activities in Egypt in the field of designing electronics, ITIDA executive chairman said.
Also, according to the MoU ITIDA will present logistic support to the US company to benefit from the government incentives available for the sector of electronic designing.
