Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli reaffirmed the government’s strong commitment to closely monitoring the progress of ongoing works in the area surrounding the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).

The premier’s remarks came during his field tour of the area surrounding the GEM, as part of efforts to track the implementation of development projects currently underway there in preparation for the museum’s official opening scheduled for November 1st.

Madbouli underlined the need to accelerate the pace of work as the official inauguration of this significant cultural landmark approaches.

The prime minister was accompanied by Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Industry and Transport, Sherif Fathy, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sameh El-Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, Hend Abdel Halim, Deputy Governor of Giza, Magdy Anwar, Director General of the National Service Projects Organization of the Armed Forces, and Atef Moftah, the GEM project’s general engineering supervisor.

Madbouli noted that he had held a meeting on Thursday with the ministers and officials responsible for the museum’s opening ceremony to follow up on preparations, underscoring the need to accomplish this great project to contribute to presenting a majestic and refined image that reflects the glory and grandeur of ancient Egyptian civilization to the entire world.
