Madbouli: Minimum wage to rise by LE1,000 with additional support for key sectors

In light of accelerating global challenges and ongoing regional developments, the government has announced a comprehensive package of economic and social measures aimed at safeguarding national stability, supporting citizens, and reinforcing the resilience of the national economy.

During a press conference held at the government headquarters in the New Capital on Wednesday evening, Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli reaffirmed the government’s commitment to convening its weekly press briefings, due to exceptional circumstances.

Shell praises Egypt’s progress in boosting gas production, investment climate

Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, has stated that Egypt is steadily reinforcing its position as a leading regional energy hub by advancing strategic partnerships and accelerating natural gas exploration and production activities, in line with the State’s vision to maximise the value of national resources and strengthen regional integration across the Eastern Mediterranean.

Cairo hosts ministerial meeting of leading African states on migration co-operation

Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptians Abroad, Badr Abdel-Aati, inaugurated on Wednesday a ministerial meeting in Cairo bringing together leading African countries implementing the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.

The meeting is part of preparations for the second Global Compact Review Forum scheduled to be held in New York next month.

Amy Pope, Director General of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), alongside foreign ministers and representatives from 16 African countries, as well as delegates from the League of Arab States and the African Union, were present in the meeting.

Attacks persist on Iran as Trump threatens escalation

Iran kept up its attacks on Israel and Persian Gulf neighbours on Wednesday as airstrikes pounded Tehran and US President Donald Trump again made contradictory statements about whether he was ready to wind down the war or escalate it.

Zelenskiy, Rutte hold talks with US negotiators

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and US negotiators are holding online talks on Wednesday, a source familiar with the matter said, as Kyiv tries to keep President Donald Trump’s Administration focused on its fight against ‌Russia amid the Iran war.
