Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said Sunday the development of lakes came upon the directives of President Abdel Fattah el Sisi to increase fish wealth production and preserve the environment.
Madbouli’s statements came during a meeting to follow up on the work progress of a project to develop Lake
of Manzala in the presence of Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Aati and Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Sayed al Quseir as well officials of some ministries.
Madbouli said the development of the lake would also create urban and tourist communities around it and ensure the sea inflow of salty water in big quantities to and from the lake.
He added the development of the lake would not only increase the quantities of fish but also prevent encroachments on the lake.
