Assistant Interior Minister and head of Egypt’s official Hajj mission Alaa el-Ahmadi said some 524 pilgrims arrived at Prince Mohamad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport on Thursday.
Ahmadi said that up till now, a total of 6,428 Egyptian lottery pilgrims arrived in Saudi Arabia.
The last flight to Medina will be operated today, he said.
The mission officials are working around the clock to ensure a comfortable and convenient Hajj journey for all pilgrims, the official added.
Meanwhile, 285 pilgrims headed for Mecca after staying for five days in Medina.
The officials in charge of the mission’s operations room affirmed all Egyptian pilgrims are in good health.
The Hajj is an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca. It is a religious duty for Muslims that must be carried out at least once in their lifetime by all adult Muslims who are physically and financially capable of undertaking the journey.
