CAIRO – Egyptian Transport Minister Kamel Wazir said President Abdel Fattah El Sisi endorsed the appointment of 1,000 engineers and 1,500 technicians at the National Railways Athority.
He made the remarks on Wednesday during a meeting with the authority’s top officials, according to a statement by the Transport Ministry.
He added that the authority is racing against time to develop the railways service in line with directives of the political leadership to ensure that old trains will no longer be used by the end of the year.
He said this requires working around clock, referring to an agreement on manufacturing and supplying 1,300 railway carriages
