Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhy and Chairman of Financial Regulatory Authority Mohamed Omran led on Saturday the 3rd annual marathon of the Insurance Federation of Egypt (IFE) under the rubric “the green marathon.. way to COP27” with the participation of its head Alaa el Zoheiry, heads and members of boards of a number insurance institutions and a group of the leaders of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
As many as 2000 of the employees of the IFE and other insurance companies took part in the event held in the youth development center in Gezira.
The marathon includes a group of running competitions for all the participants.
Sobhy asserted that the marathon has a number of important messages topped by the importance of practicing sports and role of sports in maintaining the health and building a health body.
The ministry organizes a number of marathons and different sports events nationwide in light of keenness on making practicing sports a lifestyle in addition to spreading the culture of maintaining the environment and transition to green, he added.
The ministry sheds light of the role of youth in the issues of environment via raising their awareness on climate change, he said, pointing out to that the conference aims at building the abilities of the youth via organizing workshops and cultural exchange.
Meanwhile, Omran lauded the cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Youth and the IFE to render the marathon successful, pointing out that abiding by environmental and societal standards related to sustainability presents a positive change for the flourishing of insurance companies.
Zoheiry said that marathon comes as part of IFE’s contributions in the field of social responsibility, adding that the marathon aims at raising awareness with the concepts of clean environment and sustainable health.
