Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Saturday said the Egyptian state is exerting tremendous efforts towards calming down the ongoing fighting in the Gaza Strip and delivering the largest possible amounts of assistance needed.

“Our policy is not based on disloyalty and conspiracy. We are not driven by interests, yet our goal is building and construction,” president Sisi said while addressing the opening of the second edition of the annual International Manufacturing Convention & Exhibition (IMCE) in El Manara International Conference Center in New Cairo.

“The Egyptian state, thanks to its people and army, is capable of protecting itself utterly. I’m reassuring you that nobody can harm Egypt.”

The president revealed the positive role of the Egyptian state in the file of releasing detainees in the Gaza Strip.

He thanked all countries that sent humanitarian aid to Gaza, saying “We are exerting huge efforts in order to meet the needs of 2.3 million Palestinians besieged in the Gaza Strip without water, fuel and necessary medical supplies.

“The entry of 20 trucks daily is not sufficient, yet we need further aid to be delivered to the Gaza Strip.”
