The first regional conference on social care policy is to be held by the end of this month.
The conference, Social Care Policies and Achieving Social Security, will be held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and organised by the Ministry of Social Solidarity in partnership with the Arab League.
Arab ministers of social affairs from the Middle East and North Africa region will be among the participants along with representatives of local and international NGOs concerned with the social care.
“The conference will witness the exchange of views on social care policies with reference to the rights of children of unknown parents and special needs,” Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine el-Qabbaj said.
“The event will discuss regional and international practices in social and alternative care systems, and the relation between social care provision and achieving social security amid the present economic and social changes,” the minister added.
“This conference will highlight the social responsibilities of the government, private sector, civil society and individuals in social care for children in need and for society as a whole,” el-Qabbaj said.
