Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli inaugurated on Saturday Abydos 1 Solar PV Park project in Kom Ombo in Aswan governorate. The premier was accompanied by Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi and Minister of Planning and International Co-operation Rania el Mashat, along with UAE Ambassador to Egypt Mariam al Kaabi.
Abydos Kom Ombo Solar PV Park is expected to generate 500MWh electricity and is considered a symbol of sustainability in Egypt.The project is supporting action plans by the state to further depend on clean energy and implement the 2023 Sustainable Development Strategy.
Madbouli said the inauguration of Abydos 1 Solar PV Park project in Kom Ombo in Aswan governorate reflects special ties between Egypt and the UAE at all levels.
He reiterated on Saturday that the project is a pivotal step for Egypt to boost the use of renewable energy under the state’s future visions aiming to achieve environmental and economic sustainability.
This project is evidence that Egypt gives unprecedented opportunity for national, Arab and foreign private sectors to invest here to serve Egyptian citizens, he said.The premier conveyed greetings of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to all parties participating in accomplishing this achievement.
