The House of Representatives under Speaker Hanafy el Gebaly on Tuesday initially approved a draft law submitted by the government on amending some articles of Law No.91 for the Year 1975 on the establishment of the Police Academy.
The draft law aims at continuing measures to grant the police officers with high academic degrees that qualify them to apply the modern security policies, amending the names of some positions of the academy’s administrative council as well as granting the council members the flexibility to set the actual cost of services offered to students during the academic years.
The bill also entails adjusting some conditions for accepting new students at the Police Academy and restructuring the disciplinary rules applied on students in order to comply with the nature of the police academy system.
The amendments also comprise upgrading regulatory measures for accepting holders of the bachelors’ and licences degrees at the academy to benefit from their scientific specializations in the police work.
