Egyptian Minister of Local Development Mahmod Shaarawy said the ministry always works on building a developed local system under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to provide better services for citizens nationwide.
The minister made his remarks on Saturday during a meeting with Praveen Agrawal, the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) Representative and Country Director in Egypt, in the presence of a host of respective officials.
Shaarawy lauded initiatives and programs launched by the WFP to carry out local development nationwide and achieve sustainable development and empower women in the countryside, particularly in villages covered by the presidential “Decent Life” initiative.
The minister stressed that the ministry is also keen to boost future cooperation with the WFP to provide the needs of citizens under developed systems.
For his part, Agrawal said the WFP aims to cement cooperation with the ministry to develop a comprehensive strategy on food projects and initiatives in Egypt in the 2023-2027 period.
