CAIRO- The Egyptian government prioritizes creating new job opportunities for youths at the current phase, Trade and Industry Minister Nivien Gamea said Monday.
The minister made her remarks at a meeting of the House of Representatives’ committee of defense and national security to review efforts exerted by the ministry and the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA) to provide job opportunities for youths.
Gamea said the MSMEDA mainly aims to provide further small-sized enterprises to create job openings.
The Trade Ministry works on expanding licensed industrial complexes to be offered to youth investors, in addition to providing all relevant facilitation and the required plots of land for this sector, the minister added.
MP Ahmed Al Awadi, undersecretary of the committee, praised the great efforts exerted by the minister to support such enterprises and back youths to set up their projects and have new jobs.
