Egypt’s Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad had talks With Chairman of the National Centre for Planning State Land Uses (NCPSLU) Naser Fawzi on the environmental perspective of the national project for developing slaughterhouses in a number of governorates.
She underlined that all slaughterhouses should commit to environmental conditions and get environmental approvals.
The minister highlighted efforts to encourage trade and industrial projects to abide by environmental standards, thus pushing forward the wheel of development while protecting the environment.
She noted that the ministry formed an environment committee to inspect slaughterhouses in various governorates and pinpoint slaughterhouses that need to be moved from residential areas.
For his part, Fawzi said developing slaughterhouses and moving some of them outside residential areas contribute to securing more healthy and clean environment.
