CAIRO – Egyptian Supply Minister Ali el Moselhi has issued a decree on regulating supply of local wheat for the season of 2022.
The decree, which will come into effect one day after being published in the official gazette, stipulates that farmers will have to deliver, at least, 12 erdabs per feddan to relevant marketing bodies for the season of 2022.
Under the decree, the marketing bodies include the Egyptian Holding Company for Silos and Storage (EHCSS), the General Company for Silos and Storage (GSSC), companies of mills affiliated to the Holding Company for Food Industries (HCFI) and the Agricultural Bank of Egypt.
The decree also states that the surplus of wheat of the 2022 season may be only sold or moved to a third party, other than the marketing bodies, after getting an approval from the Supply Ministry on quantities, purpose of purchase and areas of storage.
