Egyptian universities now rank among the best in the world, thanks to the support of President Abdul Fattah el Sisi’s, a senior academic said.
President of Tanta University Mahmoud Zaki was addressing the 26th Innovative Forum for Training Arab University Students.
The forum was held in cooperation with the Arab Council for Training Students of Arab Universities (ACTSAU) and under the auspices of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar on 4-6 April.
Secretary General of Arab Universities Union Amr Ezzat Salama and manager of the Arab Council for Student Training and Innovation (ACSTI), Fawaz Zaghoul attended the event along with representatives from 31 Egyptian and Arab universities.
Zaki reiterated the role of the Arab Universities Union for keeping abreast of developments worldwide and promoting educational.
Universities should prepare young people who have innovative potential, Zaki said.
For his part, Salama said that the union is working on an Arab university ranking system, the first of its kind in the Arab region.
El-Refai Moubarak Tanta University Vice President for Education and Student Affairs said Tanta University had won the Geniuses‘ Competition for the second year running.
Moubarak said that the forum was held despite the Covid-19 pandemic, noting that the gathering seeks to offer opportunities for mutual training among students of the Arab universities so that they could gain more experience and meet the requirements of the labour market.
