EgyptAir has announced cancelling a number of its flights to-and-from Cairo-Munich/Frankfurt on Sunday and Monday due to strikes planned at both airports due to work stoppages in the transport sector in Germany tomorrow.

Two Cairo/Munich flights were cancelled: EgyptAir flight MS787 from Cairo to Munich on Sunday 26 March and EgyptAir flight MS788 from Munich to Cairo on Monday 27 March.

“Passengers on these flights will be moved to the earliest possible flights,” said EgyptAir.

In addition, EgyptAir cancelled its flight MS786 from Frankfurt to Cairo on Monday 27 March.

It also cancelled its flight MS785 from Cairo to Frankfurt on Monday 27 March, saying clients who were booked on Monday’s flight could travel on MS785 on Tuesday 28 March.

The company asked all clients who booked on these cancelled flights to contact its call centre for further instructions.

German unions called a one-day strike on Monday in the transport sector, including airports and railways, to demand salary hikes to meet high inflation in the country.

Frankfurt airport, Germany’s busiest airports, announced it was cancelling all regular flights on Monday.

Similarly, Munich airport, the second busiest airport in the country, announced that it was cancelling passenger flights on Sunday and Monday
