Egypt’s Local Development Minister Hisham Amna said Egypt will host the 4th ordinary session of the committee of African local development ministers on August 29-31.
In a statement released on Saturday, he pointed out that the conference will be held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi with the participation of delegations of 55 African countries and representatives of the United Nations Human Settlement Program (UN-Habitat), the World Food Program (WFP), the Pan-African Organization of United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLG) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa.
The committee of African local development ministers is concerned with issues of public services, local governments, urban development and decentralization.
Amna voiced his desire that Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli could take part in the event and witness the signing ceremony of an agreement on Egypt’s hosting of the 2025 Africities summit.
The conference will cover issues of public services, local governments, urban development and decentralization, the minister added. (MENA)
