Amani Eid, head of the National Initiative for the Development of Egyptian Industry “Ebda”, showcased yesterday the initiative’s development projects during a panel discussion titled “Investing in Industry: Opportunities for Integration and Growth”.
The panel was held during the Annual International Manufacturing Convention and Exhibition in its 3rd edition, under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. Eid showcased mechanisms to enhance Egypt’s industrial vision, and efforts to support manufacturers via collaboration with key stakeholders, particularly the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
Eid presented updates on the Nile Industrial Investment Fund, Egypt’s first direct industrial investment fund, launched in May with a capital of LE2.5 billion. The fund aims to localise manufacturing, reduce imports, and achieve competitive returns. Eight projects worth LE17 billion have been selected for the fund’s first phase, contributing 18 per cent of industrial investments in the past three years. These projects have created over 3,000 direct jobs for young people.
