menochild molestation is a phenon that contradicts Islam, peace and dignity, calling on the society to tighten monitoring of sexual harassers
CAIRO – Al Azhar’s Islamic Research Academy, headed by Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb, said child molestation is deviant behavior that is forbidden by straight people, and is criminalized by all laws and codes.
During a session Tuesday at its headquarters in Cairo, the academy asserted that such a behavior, which is spreading hypothetically and realistically, requires the harshest penalties.
It noted in a statement that the criminalization of that attitude has to be absolute, and devoid of any condition or context.
The academy added that menochild molestation is a phenon that contradicts Islam, peace and dignity, calling on the society to tighten monitoring of sexual harassers, report any sexual-based crimes to the police, and raise the children’s awareness in this regard.
