Minister of Civil Aviation Mohamed Abbas received on Thursday Mayor of the American city of Denver, Michael B. Hancock and his accompanying delegation.

The two sides discussed the possibility of operating direct flights between Cairo and Denver, which would contribute to stimulating air traffic and tourism.

Abbas confirmed that the Ministry of Civil Aviation has drawn up an ambitious and comprehensive plan to open new air routes with world countries in line with the Egyptian state’s strategy to develop air transport system.

The discussions covered mechanisms to further enhance tourist arrivals to Egyptian archaeological destinations. Abbas and the US official discussed means to expand cooperation horizons and exchange of experiences.

For his part, Hancock said that he was looking forward to increasing air and tourism traffic and stimulating trade and investment with Egypt.
