Egyptian Armed Forces have tracked and trappe a number of terrorist elements in isolated areas adjacent to the border areas, as the Air Force launched a concentrated air strikes that destroyed a host of terrorist outposts, and two 4-wheel drive vehicles used by terrorist elements in their criminal plans, the military spokesman said in a statement yesterday. The strike resulted in killing nine takfiri elements.
The operation, which started on May 7 to date, was prompted by the national constants of the Armed Forces to preserve the security and stability of the country in coordination with the law enforcement forces. It was also motivated by the strong desire to avenge the ‘martyrs’.
In addition, the Armed Forces also discovered and destroyed improvised explosive devices, which were meant to target the forces, the statement said.
The Air Force yesterday carried on with the concentrated strikes and killed 7 more takfiri elements and destroying a vehicle.
Also yesterday’s morning, the law enforcement forces discovered a number of terrorist elements moving in the vicinity of a security checkpoint, and dealt with them, killing seven more takfiri elements.
They also seized some automatic rifles, grenades, ammunition, wireless devices and volcano launchers. An officer and four soldiers were martyred in this operation.
The Armed Forces stressed in the statement that it will not abandon the right of its martyrs and will remain determined to carry on with efforts to combat terrorism and eliminate it.
It also underlined that the miserable attempts by evil forces and those who assist them will only boost the forces insistence on achieving security and safety for the Egyptian people.
Earlier this week, the Armed Forces foiled a terrorist attack by takfiri elements on a checkpoint at a water lifting station in west Sinai, resulting in the martyrdom of an officer and 10 soldiers, according to the Armed Forces spokesman. Five others were injured.
