Egyptian Local Development Minister Mahmoud Sharaawy asserted on Wednesday the ministry’s keenness on implementing the political leadership’s directives concerning spreading the good practices of the local development programme in Upper Egypt within three years.
This came as the minister was reviewing a report raised by the coordinating office of the local development programme in Upper Egypt concerning the results and outcome of the field visit and technical support provided by the programme’s delegation to the governorates of Minya, Assiut and Sohag in June.
The programme includes seven fields namely inclusive local planning, implementing environmental and social considerations of the local management projects, developed practices to implement and follow up the projects, asset management and linking them with maintenance, operation and local economic development, institutional mechanism and preparing budget according to performance indicators in governorates.
