The Chiefs of Staff of the Eastern and Western Regions of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant-General Abdul Razzaq al-Nadori and Lieutenant-General Mohamed al-Haddad respectively arrived in Cairo on Thursday to support the work of the Joint Military Committee 5 + 5, which is in session for the second day in a row.
The two senior army officials affirmed their keenness to ensure the success of the military path, which Egypt hosted to settle the crisis in Libya and to unify the ranks of the military institution there.
Al-Nadori and al-Haddad’s visit to Cairo and their meeting with members of the 5 + 5 Committee confirm the need to rely on official military institutions as the first guarantor of security and stability in Libya.
The meetings of the Libyan Joint Military Committee 5 + 5, which started in Cairo on Wednesday, aim to build on its achievements since the signing of the ceasefire agreement in Libya in October 2020.
Cairo’s support of the meetings comes as part of Egypt’s vision and efforts in support of Libyan-Libyan solution away from foreign interference.
