Libya’s 5+5 Joint Military Commission (JMC) discussed in Cairo on Sunday expelling mercenaries and foreign fighters who belong to neighbouring countries, in batches, from Libyan territories.
The JMC started two-day meetings yesterday, sponsored by the UN Special Eenvoy for Libya Ján Kubiš, who attended the discussions together with representatives from neighboring countries.
Participants are seeking a political solution for the removal of mercenaries and foreign fighters from the North African country which is holding parliamentary and presidential elections in Libya, slated for December 24, in line with a UN roadmap.
The JMC comprises five military officials from the eastern and western sides of the Libyan conflict.
