Lebanese Agriculture Minister Abbas Hajj Hassan praised Egypt’s support for Lebanon through the different difficult phases and crises.
Hassan, meanwhile, extended thanks to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the Egyptian government for their unwavering support to Lebanon and its people during the most difficult times, especially the crisis which gripped the country last year.
In an exclusive interview with MENA correspondent in Jordan, the Lebanese minister, who is currently on a visit to Jordan to attend the four-way meeting of the agriculture ministers of Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and Syria, which wrapped up recently, lauded the decades-long Egyptian-Lebanese ties in the various spheres.
Egypt was at the forefront of countries to support Lebanon during Covid-19 pandemic and the Beirut port explosion, he added.
The minister, meanwhile, underlined the crucial role played by Egypt in the political, economic and agricultural spheres.
The minister also said that he will pay a visit to Egypt soon to probe a host of issues with Egypt’s Agriculture Minister El Sayed el Quseir.
Regarding Egypt’s hosting of the UN Climate Change Conference COP27, the minister said that the conference is considered a global event, which will see the presence of international, Arab and regional bodies.
He also hailed Egypt’s role in addressing the climate change, affirming that Egypt’s central role in drawing attention to the challenges besetting the world in general and the Arab world in particular.
