Egypt’s Minister of Local Development Manal Awad announced the completion of the largest participatory planning course to prepare the plan of the 2025-2026 fiscal year in the Upper Egyptian governorates of Qena, Sohag, Menya and Assiut.
The minister thanked all parties who contributed to fulfilling the course, which is organized under the local development program in Upper Egypt and is set to be generalized nationwide starting from the next year under the directives of political leadership.
Awad also directed to expand citizens’ participation in developing the investment plan in all governorates.
Nearly 295 consultation sessions were held in the four governorates with the participation of some 15,000 citizens, Assistant Local Development Minister Hesham El Helbawy said.
