Egypt’s Labour Minister Mohamed Gobran on Saturday said that the political leadership attaches great importance to the file of work and labourers, fostering communication with the Egyptian expats along with attracting investments and savings from abroad.
Gobran called on the Ministry of Investment to share data base of Egyptian expatriates.
This came in the minister’s speech on the action plan of the Labour Ministry in the newly-appointed government, before a parliamentary committee entitled to assess the government agenda.
A working group will be formed to determine the impact of artificial intelligence on the labor market, the minister said.
He added that the Labour Ministry will be working on finalising the labour bill in order to meet the needs of the labour market locally and abroad.
Gobran noted that a national strategy will be outlined to promote occupational safety to protect workers and business owners along with increasing women’s employment rates.
