With only four months left to completion, Egypt’s national emergency network made headlines in the Kuwaiti “Al Anba” newspaper, which described the project as “a dream come true”.
The newspaper focused on President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s statements about the importance of the Unified National Network for Emergency and Public Safety to fully protect data and communications.
The project is expected to be implemented across Egypt within four months, the paper said in an editorial titled “Sisi inaugurates National Network for Emergency and Public Safety”.
Safeguarding data is such a complicated process, the paper quoted Sisi as having said during the inauguration of the network in Mokkatam district of Cairo Monday. The Egyptian president expected that data would be 100-per cent secure after the completion of the grid, which will make it impossible to access or penetrate any information.
Branches should be established in each governorate and will connect to the main center with the aim to quickly respond to any reports from anywhere in Egypt, the paper said.
It is the first time that Egypt has owned a satellite for communication, the paper made it clear.
