One week from today, the World Youth Forum will convene under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in the city of Sharm el-Sheikh.
It will be the forum’s fourth edition since its launch in 2017 as a platform for youth from various regions of the world to engage in dialogue, including with policymakers, on visions and ways to spread peace, prosperity and harmony.
As preparations are nearing completion for the January 10 launch of the forum, organisers announced on Monday that the list of official sponsors of the fourth edition includes prominent Egyptian institutions, international organisations, investment companies, banks, ministries and universities.
The sponsors’ contributions cover the entire budget of all the forum’s events and activities, the organisers said in a statement on Monday, adding that this measure reflects keenness to fund all the forum’s expenses from outside the state’s budget.
In this context, the WYF management announced a donation of LE50 million from its surplus budget this year, to be directed to support and finance various development initiatives.
The United Nations Commission for Social Development has recognised the WYF’s three previous editions as an international platform for discussing youth issues.
