Egyptian Chairman of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation (SCMR) Karam Gabr has stressed the necessity of promoting inter-Arab co-operation to confront the phenomenon of cyberterrorism.
This came in his word at the opening of the Meetings of the 97th regular session of the Permanent Committee of the Arab Media, held under the aegis of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The meetings set the stage for the meeting of the Executive Office of the Arab Information Ministers Council, on Wednesday and the meeting of the Arab Information Ministers Council, on Thursday, under the chairmanship of Egypt.
The agenda of the Arab media committee includes 14 items, topped by the Palestinian issue, the Arab media strategy, the Arab action and the role of media to counter the phenomenon of terrorism, the Arab media map for sustainable development for 2030, the unified strategy for international media companies, as well as the Arab Media Day and the Arab Media Excellence Award.
The Arab information ministers will also discuss a number of organisational and structural issues, as well as the formation of the executive office of the Arab Information Ministers Council.
