CAIRO – Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi and his Jordanian counterpart Saleh Kharabsheh on Monday witnessed the signing of a co-operation agreement to optimise the use of Egypt’s gas infrastructure, allowing Jordan to access floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) in Egypt over the next two years.
The agreement was signed in Cairo by Sufian Bataineh, Director General of the National Electric Power Company (NEPCO), and Yassin Mohamed, Chairman of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), according to a statement released by the Petroleum Ministry.
Badawi said the agreement comes in light of the two countries’ commitment to securing gas supplies and achieving mutual benefit, the statement added.
