US First Lady Jill Biden on Saturday visited the Giza Pyramids on the sidelines of her current official visit to Egypt.
She was received by Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed and Dr. Mostafa Waziry, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities.
Biden visited the Great pyramid of Khufu from outside, and the panorama area, as well as the Sphinx.
Waziry gave her a tour of the plateau as well as its most important features.
Biden was also photographed at the plateau, as she enjoyed every moment during her tour and expressed her admiration for the pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx.
Waziry also offered Biden a replica of an ancient collar as a souvenir to commemorate her visit to Egypt.
Biden arrived in Cairo on Friday, on the second leg of her six-day trip across the Middle East, North Africa and Europe that seeks to promote empowerment for women and education for young people.
The US first lady arrived in the Egyptian capital from Amman, Jordan, where she attended the wedding of Crown Prince Hussein and Saudi architect Rajwa Alseif on Thursday. She is travelling to Morocco on Saturday before heading to Portugal, the final stop of her tour, on Monday.
