CAIRO- Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs Yoshimasa Hayashi will arrive here on Monday for an official three-day visit during which he will meet with a host of senior officials, including Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
Hayashi’s visit is part of a regional tour covering Jordan and Saudi Arabia, said a senior Japanese diplomat in a press release on Sunday, hailing Egypt’s pivotal role in the Middle East.
The visit seeks to follow up on prominent developments in bilateral ties, resumption of direct flights between Cairo and Tokyo, increasing the number of Japanese schools in Egypt, the imminent opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, as well as Japanese investments in Egypt, the same source added.
