Egyptian Ambassador to Rome Bassam Rady stated that Minister for Business and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso will be in Cairo tomorrow for a two-day visit.
Discussions are expected to focus on localising industries with Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat, Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek el-Molla and Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker.
Egyptian-Italian relations have witnessed great development in the past year at all levels, notably in technology transfer and localising industry, Rady said.
Bilateral discussions will focus on co-operation in digitisation and communications technology in accordance with the initiatives of the Group of Major Industrialised countries in order to establish regional communications centres worldwide, including Egypt, along with electrical interconnection projects between the two countries, new and renewable energy, and green hydrogen, Rady added.
Co-operation in raw materials and rare minerals, such as black sand which has been processed in Burullus since 2022, is likely to be on the agenda, the ambassador said.
A memorandum of understanding will also be signed between the Egyptian Space Agency and its Italian counterpart.
