SHARM EL SHEIKH – Preparatory meetings of the 47th 2022 IsDB Group Annual Meetings kicked off on Wednesday in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh.
The event is held under the rubric “Beyond Recovery: Resilience and Sustainability,” under the sponsorship of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and with the participation of Planning and Economic Development Minister Hala el-Saeed and economy ministers from IsDB 57 members states.
The IsDB Group Annual Meetings convene in response to an invitation extended by the Egyptian government, which targets reinforcing co-operation with IsDB and its member states.
The annual meetings, along with the large array of events and functions taking place on their sidelines over the four-day period, are expected to attract a large number of representatives from regional and international financial and development institutions, business leaders and the wider community.
The gathering, which offers an ideal platform for decision-makers to discuss challenges and explore opportunities in member countries, typically attracts an audience in excess of 2,000 participants across the various functions.
A number of events will be organised on the sidelines of the gathering, including a business forum for the private sector, along with activities held in preparation for Egypt’s hosting of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (UNCCC) COP27.
