CAIRO – Egyptian Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Mohamed Abdel Aati said his ministry exerted great efforts over the past years to meet water needs and successfully manage high-consumption periods.
This came during a periodic meeting of the Permanent Committee for Regulating the River Nile Revenue under Abdel Aati and in the presence of executive leaderships of the ministry and the National Water Research Centre.
The meeting falls within the framework of following up River Nile revenues for the current water year and measures to handle the rainfall season.
The ministry has managed this period perfectly with the least numbers of complaints and provided for the necessary water needs for all sectors, he said.
The minister reviewed waterfall rates and different scenarios to face future floods.
Abdel Aati urged to continue exerting efforts to provide the best water services for all beneficiaries and minimise water-related complaints.
