Egypt’s Irrigation Minister Hany Sweilam met Sunday with senior officials at his Ministry to review projects and studies carried out by the different departments concerned with the northern lakes.
The meeting took up efforts to upgrade the lakes of Manzala, Edku, Marriot and Borlos, as well as action taken to maintain their water and environmental balance.
All this is done in coordination with the different state apparatuses.
Sweilam focused on efforts by the Egyptian Public Authority for Shore Protection to improve the quality of water and increase fish wealth through dredging the straits of Ashtoum el Gamil that feed Lake Manzala.
