AMMAN/CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Irrigation Hany Sweilam has taken part in the 36th Forum of the Islamic Network for Water Resources Development and Management in Amman, Jordan.

The event is held under the auspices of Prince Hassan bin Talal, chairman of Jordan’s Higher Council for Science and Technology (HCST).

In his inaugural speech, Prince Hassan stressed the critical role of water, energy, and food initiatives in driving sustainable progress across the region. He emphasized the importance of leveraging modern technology to enhance water investment and called for proactive, cooperative water policies among regional nations.

Titled “Balance for Humanity and Earth: Harmony with the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem Nexus”, the forum focuses on promoting sustainable development and regional cooperation.

EkSweilam explained how to use untraditional water resources in food production as part of the transition to the application of an interconnected concept among water, energy, food and the ecosystems.

The three-day event is attended by 120 ministers, experts and water officials in the Arab and Muslim worlds.
