Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hani Swelim asserted the ministry is very interested in implementing several projects in Nile Basin countries to improve the living standard of population.
Such projects are determined as per requirements of the people in the relevant states and in light of sisterly ties binding Egypt and African states in general and Nile Basin countries in particular, added Swelim at a meeting with a number of the ministry’s leaders Wednesday.
The meeting discussed ways of boosting bilateral cooperation with South Sudan.
The talks also tackled the ongoing work in a number of developmental projects carried out by Egypt in South Sudan and the ventures which were already fulfilled in the country.
For example, Egypt has started the process of establishing eight groundwater drinking water stations in South Sudan.
The eight groundwater stations include three stations in Lobonok and five in Jonglei.
