Egyptian Planning and Economic Development Ministry announced on Thursday that the general investments directed to Aswan governorate reached $9.5 billion in the 2022-23 fiscal year up by 17.3 per cent of 2021/2022 fiscal year.
This came as the ministry reviewed the investment citizen plan in Aswan governorate of the fiscal year 2022-23.
In statements, Planning and Economic Development Minister Hala el Saeed said the sustainable development plan of 2022/2023 fiscal year attaches importance to Upper Egypt governorates to achieve a swift and tangible development and it focuses on general investments in the fields of infrastructure, social and economic in order to benefit all citizens nationwide especially youths, women and people with special abilities.
She said the number of development projects in Aswan governorate amounts to 321.
A report by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development indicated that investments worth LE 3.6 billion were directed to the irrigation resources sector in Aswan governorate.
LE2.1 billion will be allocated to the housing sector, 3.6 billion pounds to housing and slums development sector, 831 million pounds to the transport sector while the investments allocated to higher education amount to LE720 million.
She said the Citizen Investment Plan is an important database that helps citizens follow up under-construction projects in their governorates to guarantee their high-level implementation.
The minister explained that the plan provides detailed information on the most important development indicators in each governorate and its share of public investments in the plan for the fiscal year (22/2023).
The “Citizen Investment Plan” also provides information on the investments directed within the national project for the development of the Egyptian countryside, “a Decent Life”, the distribution of these investments among the various sectors, and the most prominent performance indicators that monitor the current state of development in each sector.
